A nice holiday in Taiwan

27 10 2009

Thanks god our Taiwan trip was scheduled after PAMA Typhoon ~ The trip was enjoyable and well executed as our plan despite the bad weather announced earlier…It’s worth my effort to do so much research and planning for the itinerary~~ clap hands*

Air ticket was purchased from Jestar at Sgd304/pax and our total expenses of the trip is about Sgd1000 each inclusive accomodation, meals, transportation, shopping, souvenirs and entrance fees.(It’s worth!!)

We spent 11days 10 night to cover Taichung, Kaoshiung, Kenting & Taipei(Yilan was the only one we omitted in this trip due to the flood). Our main activities in this trip were eat eat eat, shop shop shop and shoot shoot shoot.

It was really a nice holiday for me~ Alot of nice things about this trip~

It was the beginning of Autumn season there, thus the weather was quite cooling, about 23-24 degree in Taipei and 28-30 in kaoshiung. Slightly hot in south part but still better than Singapore.

Most of the places we has visited were nice, special and memorable. Places that i like the most are Feng Jia Night market, Ximending, Shilin night market, 九分老街 and 淡水老街.

Most of the taiwanese there were nice and polite except a small part of rude people. The way they talk (nomatter guy or gals) are very soft and gentle. Pretty girls are everywhere~

The food there was super nice!!!! Those are really unforgetable like Even their 便當 and 杯面also delicious. We love to buy drinks from the 便利店 where you able to find variety of nice drinks like yuan yang milk tea, coffee, green tea, honey tea and juices.

And never forget about the hot spring at xin beitou~~ It was indeed a nice experience to sink urself naked under 43 degree hot water!!! shiok~~

Details and photos of the trip will be updated at www.aniceholiday.com

Stay tune~

Bamboo shoots after a Spring Rain

15 04 2009

A Relaxing Trip at Bintan

18 03 2009

We arrived at Bintan Island at about 11.40am which was 10.40am Indonesia time. Proceed to the immigration counter at ferry terminal and waited for the resort taxi at arrival hall. There are few counters for other resorts, travel information counters and some souvenir shops at the arrival hall too.

The journey to resort from ferry terminal is about 10 min drive. Once we arrived at the resort- Banyan Tree, we were served with the welcome drinks and towels at the lobby while waiting for the receptionist to check in our villa.

After putting down our luggage, we quickly snapped some photos of the villa and headed to the nearest restaurant for lunch which is Tree top restaurant. Variety of food choices are given in this restaurant which includes local foods and western foods. From the restaurant, we could see a very nice swimming pool, gallery shop and Spa available nearby the restaurant.

I would say that it was indeed a nice place to relax your mind and have a short getaway from the fast paced city life. We had a great time in this little island for 3D2N. Basically, there is nothing much we can do over there, but we enjoyed the natural of the island and the comfy design of the resort.  People there are very nice and polite. You will feel especially warm when you  see people putting a smile on their face and greet you politely wherever you go.

Bintan!! Here i come!!!

6 03 2009

I am going to Bintan by tomorrow!! Yes!! Bintan island!! It is my first trip to BINTAN…. and I practically know nothing about this little island. Feel so excited about the trip as I will be going for a simple and luxury short trip in a nearby island.

Alot of people do not know where is Bintan (including me) and what is the different of Bintan and Batam? After doing some research, now i have a rough idea about this two places. Basically Bintan and Batam are belong to Indonesia but located at different island. You may see from the map here. There is a regular ferry service operated by Bintan resort Ferries that plies between Singapore, Bintan and Batam. Though their national language is Bahasa Indonesia, they also can speak simple english.  The main currency used in Indonesia is Rupiah (Rp), however Singapore Dollar(S$) is widely accepted at the resorts. Apart from that, Indonesia time is one hour behind Singapore time.

bintan

Bintan is accessible via Ferry from Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) to Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal in Bintan. The journey of ferry is about 55 minutes.

Batam is nearer to Singapore, is about 20km away  and it takes about 20 minutes from Singapore to reach Nongsapura ferry terminal. Besides that, there are domestic flight connections all over Indonesia. You also can see Batam from the west coast of Bintan. Special chartered boat arrangement can be made between Bintan and Batam as well.
